Day 4: The Khwai River Lodge was the first of our three luxury camps and our base for exploring the Moremi Game Reserve. These pictures show my tented room (#9 Buffalo Thorn), the lodge bar and dining room, and the mini-safari we enjoyed directly from the outdoor deck. We saw lechwes, elephants and hippos.

Day 5: Our last lunch at the lodge – Southern Yellow-billed Hornbills drop by to check things out, but a Cape Starling decides to go straight to the buffet for samples before being chased away.
