On Day 7 we flew from Eagle Island Lodge to Camp Kalahari, located on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, one of the largest salt pans in the world and surrounded by the Kalahari Desert. The difference in climate from the Okavango Delta was definitely noticeable the minute we got off the plane.
After getting settled in our tents, we reconvened at the main lodge for lunch. The birds are very tame and land on or near the dining table to check out what we’re eating (and drinking).
